RESUME/CURRICULUM VITAE, FEBRUARY 2012
I’ve been an evolving electronic journalist since 1992. During that time I have covered firsthand nearly every significant news event in the south-central U.S. With the exceptions of the Oklahoma City bombing and the Enron collapse, if it was major news in this part of the country I was either on the scene or produced coverage for my station’s crews who were there:
- The Branch Davidian standoff & fire at Waco, 1993
- Timothy McVeigh’s and Terry Nichols’s federal OKC bombing trials, 1997
- The 1999 OKC tornado outbreak
- The Shuttle Columbia disaster, 2003
- Hurricane Katrina, 2005
- Texas’s raid of the FLDS compound near Eldorado, 2008
- Fort Hood shootings, 2009
- Texas Rangers bankruptcy auction, 2010
- Super Bowl 45 seating fiasco, 2011
I’ve learned new skills as my industry has changed. When I got my first journalism job in 1992, there was no such thing as a news website. Today I manage a large website that features original content from four broadcast stations. Keeping up with the changes in media is one of my favorite parts of my career.
